Map Fromelles

Fromelles was the first battle for Australian forces on France's Western Front during World War I.

In 24 hours Australian forces sustained more than 5,000 casualties.

The final resting place of many of these soldiers would have remained a mystery were it not for the efforts of Australian amateur archaeologist Lambis Englezos and the Friends of the 15th Brigade.
